Thousands of Lagos residents gathered at the J-Randle Centre in Onikan over the weekend as Lotus Bank hosted the 2026 edition of its Eid Souq. The event featured subsidised ram sales, business activities, entertainment, and family-focused experiences. Held on May 23 and 24, the two-day celebration attracted crowds ahead of Eid festivities, with attendees benefiting from discounts on livestock, shopping deals, and networking opportunities provided by the bank.
Flash Ram Sales Draw Crowds
The highlight of the event was the flash ram sales, where several lucky attendees purchased rams for as low as N20,000. Many described this as unprecedented given the current economic realities and soaring livestock prices nationwide. Beneficiaries Muhammad Salaudeen and Daud Abdulhameed expressed surprise and gratitude to Lotus Bank for easing the financial burden on families during the festive season.
“Buying a ram for N20,000 in today’s economy is something many people would not imagine possible. This initiative by LOTUS is truly commendable,” Salaudeen stated. Abdulhameed also praised the initiative, calling it a practical intervention at a time when many households are struggling with rising costs. “This goes beyond banking. Many families genuinely needed this kind of support and LOTUS made it happen,” he added.
Marketplace and Family Activities
Beyond the ram sales, the event featured a bustling commercial marketplace with vendors offering food items, fashion products, fragrances, accessories, household items, and festive essentials. Children and families enjoyed dedicated recreational activities at the Kiddies Arena and Games Centre, making the event a holistic community experience.
