She elaborated that for consumers to trust a product, they must first trust the people behind it, emphasizing that professionals are the primary brand ambassadors for their companies.
Voices of Support and Calls for Unity
The ceremony featured strong endorsements and forward-looking statements from heads of allied professional bodies. Tolulope Medebem, President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN), highlighted the need for increased collaboration among all stakeholders in the marketing ecosystem. She firmly stated that Bayo-Ajayi's appointment was based on merit, not quota, confirming she is thoroughly deserving of the role.
Further solidifying the consensus, Ike Neliagu, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), described the new NIMN president as highly competent and capable. From the regulatory side, Dr. Lekan Fadolapo, Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), revealed that ARCON is currently reviewing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIMN focused on capacity building. He emphasized the urgent need to bridge existing skills gaps within the industry.
