Lafarge Africa Celebrates Outstanding Trade Partners at 2025 Customer and Transporter Awards

Lafarge Africa Plc, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable building solutions and manufacturer of premium cement brands, hosted a grand ceremony to honor its exceptional trade partners. The 2025 Customer & Transporter Awards took place on Saturday, February 21, at the prestigious Landmark Event Centre on Victoria Island in Lagos, bringing together a vibrant gathering of customers, transporters, and key stakeholders.

Prestigious Gathering and Recognition of Excellence

The event was attended by notable figures, including the Honourable Commissioner for Housing in Lagos State, Hon Moruf Akinderu Fatai, and the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs from Cross River State. Also present were members of the Lafarge Africa Plc Board—Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, and Mrs. Elenda Osima-Dokubo—alongside the company's management and staff. This annual awards ceremony, considered the pinnacle of Lafarge Africa's commercial achievements, serves to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of customers and transporters who ensure the company's products are distributed nationwide.

The 2025 edition specifically celebrated partners whose dedication, integrity, and resilience have bolstered the company's market leadership amid evolving economic challenges. By reinforcing strong partnerships, Lafarge Africa continues to drive growth and innovation across Nigeria.

Top Award Winners and Prizes

Elder Ubong Bassey Obot of Ubotex Nigeria Limited was crowned the National Volume Champion, receiving a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser as his prize. In the first and second runner-up positions were Igwe Cosmas Ezeumeh Chizoba of C.C. Umeh and Sons Limited and Chief Etim Effiong Okon of Batoframoje Enterprises, respectively. They were awarded a 2026 Toyota Prado and a 2026 Toyota Fortuner.

Additionally, B.I.G MultiQuest Nigeria Limited was recognized as the National Winner in the Best Transporter category, earning a 2026 Toyota Hilux. Two customers who emerged as National Growth Champions each received 15KVA generating sets, while four regional champions were rewarded with Toyota RAV 4 cars. Other winners received a variety of prizes, including Changan CS55, GAC S3, and Hyundai Creta cars, along with 13KVA solar inverters, 80-inch Hisense TVs, and deep freezers.

Leadership Appreciation and Strategic Insights

In his welcome address, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Lafarge Africa Plc, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, expressed profound gratitude to the partners for their loyalty and commitment. He emphasized that the company's growth narrative would be incomplete without the market insights, trust, and consistent support provided by its partners. Alade-Akinyemi highlighted Lafarge Africa's ongoing efforts to push boundaries in quality, innovation, and high performance, inspired by the strength of these collaborations.

We strengthened our ready-mix business, launched new products such as Ecoplanet Elephant and Ecocrete—our low-carbon cement and concrete solutions—and demonstrated our commitment to innovation by leveraging technology as a competitive advantage. None of this would have been possible without our customers and partners," he stated.

Commendations from Commercial and Logistics Directors

The Commercial Director of Lafarge Africa Plc, Gbenga Onimowo, praised customers and transporters as "trade champions" whose excellence and unwavering belief in the company's products have sustained its strong market position. Onimowo noted that shared values and a mutual commitment to growth have fostered a beneficial relationship built on trust, loyalty, and integrity.

"You are a vital part of our business, ensuring our products are visible and accessible across the country. Your contribution merits daily appreciation. Tonight's expression of thanks is special because it gives us the opportunity to celebrate our wins together, in person. While we celebrate tonight's winners, we acknowledge that every partner here has contributed meaningfully to our success. Logistics Director Osaze Aghatise also spoke, acknowledging transporters as the critical link between the company and its customers, ensuring efficient distribution and nationwide availability of innovative building solutions. He explained that the awards serve as both recognition and motivation, encouraging partners to continue raising their performance standards.
