The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other federal ministries and agencies have pledged to integrate and adopt the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) to improve transparency in government financial operations.
Minister Announces Progress
Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, announced that 31 agencies are already live on the platform. The revelation came after a meeting between the minister and chief executive officers of 21 affected agencies in Abuja on Tuesday.
Digital System for Revenue Tracking
RevOP is a digital, technology-driven system used to track, collect, reconcile, and protect financial revenues. It is designed to identify revenue leakages, prevent fraud, automate billing, and ensure real-time visibility and traceability of every transaction.
The Federal Executive Council approved RevOP to eliminate daily financial fraud and advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's transparency initiative. The minister, represented by Permanent Secretary Muhammed Sanusi, reminded CEOs that the platform comprehensively records government revenue and expenses.
Full Compliance Target
Oyedele stated that 21 more agencies are to be captured next, as the government works to achieve 100 percent financial probity by year-end. He encouraged each agency to immediately key into the initiative to boost financial due process on all fronts.
In a personally signed statement, NEPZA Managing Director Dr Olufemi Ogunyemi said the agency is on track for full compliance, leveraging its well-structured digital financial system. He expressed encouragement and responsibility to follow RevOP, noting the president's clear leadership in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
