A Nigerian lady named Jennifer, an investment banker, has shared her experience after visiting Uganda, an East African country where the naira has a higher value than the local currency. In a TikTok video posted on May 4, Jennifer documented her trip and provided a detailed breakdown of her expenditures.
According to the Wise Currency converter, the Nigerian naira (NGN) is stronger than the Ugandan shilling (UGX) as of May. One naira exchanges for approximately 2.72 to 2.73 Ugandan shillings, while one Ugandan shilling is worth about 0.36 to 0.37 naira.
Breakdown of Expenses
Jennifer revealed that she obtained an E-visa for her trip, which was issued within a few days of application and cost $50, equivalent to about N68,500. She also spent approximately N1.2 million on her flight, which she booked on the same day of travel. Other expenses included food, accommodation, transportation, and a tour of Kampala, the capital city.
