Apostle Chibuzor Rewards Devoted Church Member with House from Tithe Funds
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), has made headlines by donating a bungalow to a dedicated female member of his church. The generous gift was presented in recognition of her unwavering service, particularly her consistent efforts in cleaning the altar at the church's headquarters.
Recognition of Service and Dedication
In a recent Facebook post, Apostle Chibuzor shared photos of himself with the church member standing in front of the newly gifted house. He publicly applauded her dedication and commitment, emphasizing that her acts of service had not gone unnoticed. The pastor explained that the decision to bless her with the property came after learning about her struggles with paying rent, highlighting her financial challenges.
He stated in his post: "She always clean the alter of GOD at the headquarters. Very dedicated member of OPM. So one day I decided to use tithe and offerings from OPM church to buy and donate a bungalow to her because she is always complaining of house rent." This gesture underscores his use of church funds, specifically tithes and offerings, to support a member in need.
Background of Philanthropic Activities
Apostle Chibuzor is widely known for his philanthropic endeavors, which include various donations, scholarships, and empowerment programs aimed at assisting less privileged individuals. This latest act of charity aligns with his reputation for generosity within the community.
However, this kind gesture comes amid ongoing controversy involving his adopted children with autism. Recently, the pastor facilitated the marriage of his adopted autistic son, offering substantial incentives such as a N10 million cash gift, a free house for life, and an overseas vacation. He also initiated a similar process for his 21-year-old adopted autistic daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor, but suspended the wedding plans on April 16, 2026, after receiving over 1,000 applications and facing social media backlash.
Public Response and Future Implications
The donation has sparked discussions about the use of church funds for individual support, with some praising the pastor's compassion and others questioning the allocation of tithes. Meanwhile, a young man has expressed interest in marrying Apostle Chibuzor's autistic daughter, promising to treat her well if chosen.
This event highlights the intersection of faith, charity, and public scrutiny in contemporary religious practices. As Apostle Chibuzor continues his philanthropic work, it remains to be seen how such actions will influence perceptions of church leadership and community support in Nigeria.
