In a grand display of cultural pride and social distinction, the city of Ilesa in Osun State was the scene of a significant event as dignitaries from across Nigeria converged for the dedication of a new family manor. The ceremony, held on 28 December 2025, marked the official unveiling of IGADILE Manor, the prestigious country home of the family of Omooba Olaniran Samson Olayinka.
A Gathering of Ijesaland's Illustrious Personalities
The event attracted a remarkable assembly of Nigeria's elite, reflecting the deep roots and high standing of the Olayinka family in the region. The gathering was graced by the presence of the paramount ruler, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III), the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland. The spiritual dimension of the ceremony was underscored by leading clerics, including retired Methodist Archbishop of Ilesa and Ibadan, Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, and the Anglican Bishop of Ilesa, Bishop (Prof.) Dapo Asaju, who is also a former Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University.
Prominent family members in attendance highlighted the family's academic and traditional achievements. They included Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the celebrant's elder brother and the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan; Mrs Alice Ajidahun, the elder sister; and Oba Olufemi Olayinka, the Olu-Odo of Odo-Ijesha and another elder brother. Other distinguished guests were Engr Femi and Mrs Olaitan Odeyemi, and the Ashiwaju of Ijesaland, Ashiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, alongside numerous other traditional rulers and dignitaries.

The magnificent IGADILE Manor, situated in one of Ilesa's most upscale neighbourhoods, is more than just a residence; it is a cultural landmark. The home seamlessly blends architectural refinement with the deep-rooted heritage of Ijesaland, standing as a beacon of prestige. The brain behind this project, Omooba Olaniran Olayinka, is celebrated for his decades of professional excellence in Nigeria's banking sector.
An alumnus of the University of Lagos where he graduated with a first-class degree in Economics, Olaniran Olayinka has held top-tier positions in leading financial institutions. His illustrious career includes significant roles at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and culminated in his service as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Keystone Bank Nigeria Limited. He hails from the Ajifodu Ruling House of Odo-Ijesha, in the Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State.
Prayers, Royal Blessings, and Jubilant Celebrations
The dedication ceremony was both solemn and festive. It featured heartfelt prayers led by Bishops Ladigbolu and Asaju, seeking divine favour for the home and its inhabitants. Oba Clement Haastrup bestowed royal blessings upon the family and the manor, reinforcing the sacred connection between the throne and the people.
The celebratory atmosphere was amplified by musical performances. Chief Niyi Ajetomobi, the Aladamo of Ijesha, enthralled the audience with melodious renditions. A live band further energized the gathering by performing a mix of contemporary hits and uplifting praise songs, ensuring the event was filled with joy and thanksgiving.
In his address, Omooba Olaniran Olayinka expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness to his family. He thanked all the guests and well-wishers who honoured the occasion with their presence. He offered prayers that joy, peace, and celebration would continually abound in their households. The unveiling of IGADILE Manor has firmly established it as a symbol of legacy, successfully bridging cherished heritage with modern sophistication and cementing the Olayinka family's esteemed position within Ilesa's social and cultural fabric.
