Petition Demands Governor's Executive Review
The crisis centres on the Olu-Oke chieftaincy stool. The Kuole-Oloje Ruling House, alongside Prince Adewole Abegunde, has submitted a petition to Governor Aiyedatiwa, demanding an immediate review of the process that led to the appointment of Akintoye Adeoye from the Are Kugbaigbe Ruling House.
The petition, dated December 29, 2025, and obtained by The Guardian, argues that the selection and the subsequent presentation of the staff of office were conducted improperly. The family's legal counsel, Tope Temokun, authored the document, which carries the reference number TTC/OOK/ODSG/25.
Allegations of Legal and Customary Violations
In the detailed petition, the appellants lay out several key grievances. They insist that the entire process violated the existing chieftaincy declaration governing the kingdom.
