In a message of hope for the new year, a prominent Nigerian cleric has declared that the country's protracted security challenges could finally be overcome within the year 2026. Prophet Sam Olu Alo, the respected planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo Grace of Prayer Mountain Worldwide, shared this optimistic prophecy while addressing the press.
Pathway to Peace: Love, Tolerance, and Unity
The cleric spoke with journalists on January 1, 2026, following a crossover service held at the Jesus City Camp along the Lekki Expressway in Lagos. He emphasized that the keys to unlocking lasting peace in Nigeria are deeply rooted in the attitudes of its citizens.
Prophet Alo outlined a three-pronged approach for Nigerians to adopt. The first and most crucial principle is genuine love among all citizens. He argued that true love has the power to dismantle the foundations of violence. "When a war gets so hot, it is at this point, it is about to be won," he stated, drawing a biblical parallel. He firmly believes that if the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria embrace sincere love for one another, the secrets and hideouts of those perpetrating evil will be exposed, leading to victory over insecurity within the year.
Call for Religious Harmony and Support for Security Forces
The second pillar of his advice targeted religious intolerance, which he identified as a fundamental cause of the nation's troubles. Prophet Alo called on all genuine religious leaders—Muslim, Christian, and traditional—to prioritize preaching mutual love and respect. He lamented the historical loss of love that has bred suspicion and hatred, even among followers of the same faith.
Thirdly, he stressed the critical importance of improving the welfare and well-being of Nigeria's security personnel. He described proper care for police, military, and other operatives as non-negotiable for effectively addressing security threats. Alongside these practical steps, Prophet Alo reaffirmed that fervent prayer remains central to the nation's restoration of peace.
Clarity Sought on New 2026 Tax System
Beyond security, the cleric also weighed in on the new tax system launched by the Federal Government on January 1, 2026, which has sparked diverse reactions nationwide. He acknowledged that many Nigerians do not fully understand the new regime and urged the government to embark on clear public sensitization.
"Every nation that has become highly developed has a history of adequate payment of taxes," he noted. However, Prophet Alo appealed for greater transparency from the authorities. He advised the government to clearly communicate how the revenues generated from the new tax system would be utilized and to faithfully fulfill those pledges. This, he argued, would build public trust and confidence in the system.
The prophet concluded by linking good governance to public faith, stating that visible development would strengthen trust in both security efforts and fiscal policies. He also mentioned his planned spiritual tour to Mount Sinai as part of his annual prayer schedule for the growth of his ministry and for enduring peace in Nigeria.
