"I can confirm that it coincided with the restoration of electricity. I must also inform you that the authorities have yet to evaluate the extent of the damage caused by the fire," Fr. Laikei explained, adding that church members were still in shock over the sudden destruction of their place of worship.

The situation was reportedly worsened by the absence of functional fire service vehicles in Wukari, forcing church members to watch helplessly as flames consumed the entire structure.
