Pastor Kumuyi Warns Against Satanic Calls, Urges Believers to Embrace Divine Ministry

In a profound spiritual message, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has highlighted the critical importance of discerning between different types of calls that individuals encounter in life. According to the respected cleric, everyone is destined to respond or react to one of three distinct calls: those from fellow humans, from Satan, or directly from God. The central challenge, as Pastor Kumuyi articulates, is to ensure that we are responding to the right call and aligning our actions with divine purpose rather than worldly temptation.

The Danger of Satanic Calls

Pastor Kumuyi draws a stark parallel using the biblical example of Abimelech, who mistakenly believed he had a legitimate call to the throne. Abimelech pursued this ambition through homicide and the support of his tribesmen, a path that Pastor Kumuyi identifies as a clear call from Satan. "Anyone who follows the same direction – to kill, maim or destroy in order to receive, propagate or pursue a call – is in pursuit of a call from Satan," he warns. This sobering reminder underscores the destructive nature of satanic influences and the importance of rejecting such paths.

The pastor emphasizes that it would be well-pleasing to the Lord if each person waits for the direct call of God, much like Gideon did in Judges Chapter Six. In life, we are often faced with alternatives, some essential for our journey to heaven and others that could ultimately lead to our downfall. We are duty-bound to think deeply before making a choice, as picking an option implies a forfeiture of the other. Wisdom, therefore, lies in choosing only the essentials that align with God's will.

Rejecting Worldly Rulership for Heavenly Ministry

Pastor Kumuyi further illustrates this point through the parable of Jotham, the son of Gideon, where people are likened to trees. In this narrative, the trees of the forest sought the olive tree to reign over them, but it rejected the offer, knowing its true ministry was to honor God and man through its "fatness." Similarly, believers must know their own ministry and be cautious when approached with offers to reign over others. Accepting such proposals without proper counsel can sever one's relationship and connection with God, Pastor Kumuyi cautions.

He urges believers to consider deeply and not exchange their God-given ministry for the position of reigning over men. Instead, our concentration should be to "fear God and keep His commandments," bearing in mind that He "shall bring every work into judgment." This includes refusing to accept rulership privileges in place of a holier assignment. Believers must take a firm stand against any privileges that contravene their sacred ministry.

The Sweetness of Serving God

Following the olive tree's refusal, the trees sought the fig tree to reign over them. The fig tree responded, "should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?" Pastor Kumuyi uses this to highlight that there is nothing sweeter than serving God and following Him, despite persecutions and pressures. This is because believers live under the canopy of the Almighty God, in companionship with Christ, and have the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, they have the promises of God and eternal rewards awaiting them.

Therefore, making a choice to keep to our ministry is paramount. The most appropriate time to make that choice is now, while the kingmakers are yet to approach us with their offer. This is also the time to repudiate, in advance, any royal promotion in preference for a heavenly ministry. Accepting or rejecting royal promotion is one of the greatest temptations that confront people, but as believers with a heavenly ministry, we must ask God for the grace to say no to such temptations.

Contributing to Divine Joy

Like the vine in the parable, believers contribute to the joy and cheerfulness of God. We must not forsake this privilege in favor of appealing to a small percentage of the world's population. Pastor Kumuyi reminds us that we are called to reach a wider scope with the interpretation and application of the story of Christ's sacrifice. The Ethiopian eunuch and the whole city of Samaria experienced joy because Philip brought the gospel to them. Similarly, we cause immense joy in heaven when one person turns to Christ in repentance through our soul-winning efforts.

In conclusion, Pastor Kumuyi exhorts believers to stand where God puts them and not desire "to be promoted over (men) to our detriment." By focusing on divine calling and rejecting satanic temptations, we can fulfill our true purpose and bring glory to God. This message serves as a timely reminder for all to prioritize spiritual discernment and commitment to heavenly ministry over worldly ambitions.
