The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates for the 2026 Mop-Up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now print their examination notification slips. This development comes as a relief for those who were unable to sit for their earlier examinations due to technical challenges.
Mop-Up Exam Date and Details
The 2026 UTME Mop-Up is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026. It is specifically designed for candidates who missed the original UTME due to technical issues. JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin confirmed that the notification slip contains essential information such as the candidate's examination centre, date, time, and other important instructions necessary for a smooth examination process.
How to Print the Slip
Eligible candidates are advised to visit the JAMB website and click on 'Print 2026 Mop-Up UTME Slip' to access and print their slips. Benjamin emphasized the importance of printing the slip well ahead of the examination date to familiarize oneself with the examination centre and avoid last-minute difficulties.
Final Opportunity for Candidates
Benjamin stressed that the Mop-Up Examination represents the final opportunity for eligible candidates to sit the 2026 UTME. He warned that no further examination would be conducted after this exercise. 'All candidates are therefore urged to take advantage of this opportunity and make the necessary preparations for the examination,' he said.
Public Reactions
Several candidates have expressed concerns on social media regarding eligibility and biometric issues. One user, @Oziohu001, reported that their status showed 'not eligible' despite missing the previous exam. Another user, @BFarouq23945, inquired whether candidates with biometric issues during the first exam would face the same problem in the mop-up. JAMB has not yet responded to these queries.
Related Updates
In a related development, JAMB recently released 279 previously withheld UTME results following investigations into examination malpractice. Results from suspicious centres remain withheld as investigations continue. Candidates can check their results by texting UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using their registered phone numbers.
Additionally, JAMB has confirmed that printing of the 2026 original result slips has not yet commenced. The board attributed the delay to ongoing examination processes and required post-assessment adjustments. UTME candidates have been assured that the printing portal will be activated soon, with official notification pending.
