JAMB Sets June 13, 2026 for UTME Mop-Up Exam

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the mop-up examination for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This examination is specifically designed for candidates who were biometrically verified and presented themselves for the original UTME but were unable to sit for it due to various reasons.

Background and Reasons for Mop-Up

According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, several test centers experienced technical challenges that prevented some candidates from taking the examination. Additionally, some candidates could not be biometrically verified despite presenting themselves. In certain cases, results were withdrawn due to examination infractions. All affected candidates have been included in the list for the mop-up exercise.

Key Details for Affected Candidates

Benjamin emphasized that this mop-up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise. It serves as an opportunity to resolve all outstanding examination issues involving candidates who encountered difficulties during the main test. He urged affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with their assigned examination centers and make all necessary preparations ahead of the test date.
