Lady Explains Why She Didn't Buy Cousin Phone After JAMB Score

A young Nigerian woman who made a promise to her cousin that she would buy her a new phone if she performed well in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination has taken to social media to share her reaction after seeing the cousin's score. The woman, who shared her story two years after the incident, was responding to a post by another user who had made a similar promise to his niece.

Lady Expected a Good JAMB Score

In her post, the woman explained that she expected her cousin to score between 230 and 250 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), considering that her cousin's academic history had always been shaky. She had promised to buy her a phone if she achieved that range.

However, when the results were released, the cousin scored 172, which was far below the expected range. Disappointed, the woman decided not to fulfill the promise. Instead, she used part of the money she had set aside for the phone to buy fish.
