Imo State Finally Releases Delayed First School Leaving Certificate Results (2020-2024)
Imo Releases FSLC Results After Four-Year Delay

The Imo State government has finally broken a prolonged deadlock, announcing the release of the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) examination results for pupils across the state after a delay spanning four years.

End of a Long Wait for Pupils and Parents

In a significant move to resolve an educational bottleneck, the state authorities have directed affected pupils, now likely in secondary schools, to collect their long-awaited and authenticated certificates from their respective former primary schools. The results cover the period from 2020 to 2024, a timeframe during which thousands of students completed primary education without formal certification.

The announcement was made official through a weekend statement issued by the State Commissioner for Education, Professor Bernard T.O. Ikegwuoha. He made a direct appeal to the concerned pupils, their parents, and all stakeholders to take note of the development and proceed to collect the vital documents.

A New Era of Prompt Result Processing

Professor Ikegwuoha used the occasion to declare an end to the frustrating era where pupils in the state would sit for examinations only to have their results withheld indefinitely. He assured the public that the government is now committed to timely processing and release.

"The era of writing exams without results is over," the Commissioner firmly stated in the release. He informed the public that the recently released backlog of results is currently being reviewed and printed for distribution.

Transition to a Digital Future

Looking forward, the Ministry of Education has outlined a modern, digital pathway for accessing future results to prevent a recurrence of such delays. From March 2026, all released FSLC results will be reviewed and printed directly online.

The statement provided specific instructions for this new system: "All released FSLC Examination results will be reviewed and printed online from: Ministry of Education website: https://education.im.gov.ng/".

This move signals a shift towards greater transparency and accessibility in the state's educational administration. It is expected to bring relief to many families and restore confidence in the primary school certification process within Imo State.
