200 Students Get Gbemisola Olowolafe Miva Scholarship

Two hundred students have been selected as the first beneficiaries of the Gbemisola Olowolafe Miva Scholarship. The award, granted by Miva Open University in partnership with the Tunji Olowolafe Foundation, underscores the organizations' shared mission to expand access to quality education and transform communities. The initiative is grounded in the belief that when access is equal, opportunities become equal as well.

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is part of a N1 billion, five-year initiative designed to support 1,000 talented individuals who demonstrate academic potential but require financial assistance to pursue their undergraduate degrees. In March, over 1,700 applications were received from students across Nigeria. Following a rigorous selection process, 200 beneficiaries were chosen based on academic potential, financial need, and clearly defined educational goals.

With transparent criteria, structured selection, merit-based decisions, and an accountability framework, beneficiaries were carefully chosen through a clear and direct process. All selected students were notified via email after the selection concluded.
