NAHCON Commends Lagos State for Exemplary Hajj Conduct
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has praised the officials and pilgrims from Lagos State for their outstanding behavior during the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia. This commendation was delivered on Thursday by the South-West National Commissioner, Dr. Tajudeen Abefe Oladejo, during a visit to the Lagos State tent in Mina.
Dr. Oladejo, leading the NAHCON delegation, expressed satisfaction with the discipline and organization demonstrated by the Lagos contingent. He encouraged them to uphold this high standard until the conclusion of the spiritual journey. The commissioner also reminded pilgrims to adhere to luggage regulations for the return trip, limiting themselves to two bags of 23 kilograms each and one hand luggage of eight kilograms, while avoiding prohibited items such as water, juice, and other liquids.
In response, the Lagos State Amir-ul-Hajj and Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Ibrahim Layode, thanked NAHCON for the recognition. He indicated that the state would engage with NAHCON at an appropriate time to address areas needing improvement for the 2027 Hajj operation.
Pilgrims are scheduled to depart Mina for Makkah today, where they will stay until the commencement of their return journey on June 6, 2026.
