A young lady named Ogheneochuko Beatrice Omiragwa has celebrated her graduation with a degree in accounting from the University of Abuja. She opened up about her decision to leave the convent at the age of 21 and the challenges she faced during her undergraduate studies.
From Convent to Campus
Identified on TikTok as @beatricebitriz, the graduate shared how she moved to Abuja to start a new life after leaving the convent. She emphasized that the discipline and values instilled during her religious life helped shape the woman she is today.
In her own words: "I GOT MY FIRST DEGREE, BSc Accounting (Hons). This is for the 21-year-old me who left religious life at the convent and walked away from everything familiar. It was a season of uncertainty, rebuilding, and learning how to start again. I moved to Abuja and had to learn how to survive, heal, and believe in myself once more."
Balancing Work and Studies
She recounted the difficulties of balancing work, professional exams, responsibilities, and schoolwork. "There were long nights, demanding seasons, and sacrifices, but every step, including the discipline and values formed during religious life, shaped the woman I am today," she added.
She described her degree as more than just a certificate: "It is a symbol of resilience, reinvention, discipline, and the power of beginning again." She expressed gratitude to God, her mother, siblings, friends, and coursemates for their support.
