Canadian rapper Drake has etched his name in music history by becoming the first artist ever to hold the top three positions on the Billboard 200 albums chart simultaneously. This remarkable achievement was confirmed by Billboard, which reported that Drake's three projects dominated the chart for the week ending May 21.
Chart-Topping Triumph
According to Billboard, ICEMAN opened at No. 1 with an impressive 463,000 equivalent album units in the United States. It was followed by HABIBTI at No. 2 with 114,000 units, and MAID OF HONOUR at No. 3 with 110,000 units. All three albums were released on May 15, setting the stage for this unprecedented feat.
This historic achievement also marks Drake's 15th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, placing him ahead of Jay-Z among solo male artists and tying him with Taylor Swift among solo performers overall. Only The Beatles, with 19 chart-topping albums, remain ahead of the Canadian superstar.
Streaming Dominance
Billboard's data reveals that ICEMAN's first-week performance was driven primarily by streaming activity. The album generated 449,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, equating to 462.2 million on-demand streams. Similarly, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR recorded strong streaming-led debuts, each amassing over 100 million streams.
Drake is now the only act in chart history to debut at Nos. 1, 2, and 3 simultaneously, surpassing previous milestones set by acts such as Guns N' Roses and Nelly, who each debuted at Nos. 1 and 2 in the same week.
This achievement underscores Drake's enduring influence and popularity in the music industry, solidifying his legacy as one of the most successful artists of all time.
