General Overseer of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries Worldwide, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has declared that there is no alternative to Jesus Christ for salvation. In a recent message, he emphasized the exclusive role of Christ as the only way to God, drawing from Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Pastor Muoka stated that Apostle Peter's words, spoken under the unction of the Holy Ghost, stand as the ultimate boundary of human hope and the final authority on the destiny of the soul. He noted that in a world searching for shortcuts to peace or substitutes for righteousness, the word of God remains an immovable rock. He stressed that there is no alternative to Jesus Christ because no other person in history could bridge the infinite gap between a Holy God and fallen humanity. Seeking another way, he said, is not just an error in judgment but a rejection of the only lifeline thrown to a drowning world.
The Nature of Sin and the Need for a Substitute
The fundamental reason there is no alternative to Christ lies in the nature of humanity's condition. Pastor Muoka cited Romans 3:23: "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." He explained that sin is not a social mistake but a spiritual death sentence. Romans 6:23 states that "the wages of sin is death," a debt no human can pay for themselves or others. He noted that many try to pay this debt through good works, but Isaiah 64:6 reminds us that "all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags" before a holy God. He argued that one cannot wash a stained soul with dirty water or redeem a fallen life with fallen efforts. There had to be a perfect, sinless substitute—a Lamb without blemish. Only Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, could fulfill this requirement.
Jesus Christ: The Exclusive Way
When Jesus declared in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me," He was not offering one option among many but stating an exclusive spiritual reality. Pastor Muoka compared this to light dispelling darkness: there is no alternative to Christ to dispel spiritual blindness. Many look to philosophy, which discusses the problem, but Christ provides the cure. Religion is man's attempt to reach God, but the Gospel is God reaching down to man. There is only "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Any other mediator is a counterfeit; any other path is a dead end.
The Cross as Final Proof
The Cross of Calvary is the final proof that no alternative exists. Pastor Muoka argued that if there had been any other way to save humanity—through law-keeping, animal sacrifices, or human sincerity—the Father would never have allowed His Only Begotten Son to endure the agony of the Cross. The blood of Jesus is the only substance that can cleanse the conscience from dead works. Hebrews 9:22 says: "And without shedding of blood is no remission." It was not just any blood, but the precious blood of Christ that paid the ransom. To suggest another way is to suggest that Jesus' sacrifice was unnecessary. God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that only the Creator could redeem the creature.
The Power in the Name of Jesus
The power in the name of Jesus is unparalleled because it carries the authority of heaven. Philippians 2:9-10 tells us that God has "given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." No other name makes demons tremble, brings instant peace to a troubled mind, or translates a soul from darkness to light. When a sinner cries out to that name, they are calling upon a Person who upholds all things by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). There is no alternative to His power because it is the very power of the Godhead.
The Sufficiency of Christ
The sufficiency of Christ is total. He does not need our help to save us; He only needs our surrender. We are "justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24). This is the soul-converting power: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He takes the broken, shattered, rejected, and vile, and by His Spirit, makes them new. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). This transformation is not a renovation of the old life but the importation of a new life—His life. No other system can offer a new birth; they can only offer a new coat of paint on an old tomb.
Urgent Invitation and Warning
To those searching, Pastor Muoka said: stop looking for an alternative. You will find no rest for your soul in the dry wells of this world. The invitations of Christ are personal and urgent: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I shall give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He warned of the consequence of rejecting the only way: to be without Christ is to be without hope. John 3:36 warns: "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." This fuels the urgency of the Gospel. It is not intolerance to tell a man there is only one bridge over a chasm; it is supreme love. The bridge is Christ, who was bruised for our iniquities and wounded for our transgressions (Isaiah 53:5). He stood in the line of fire so we could stand in the hall of grace.
There is no alternative to Jesus Christ because He is the Alpha and Omega, the Bread of Life, the Living Water, the Light of the World, the Advocate, and the coming King. Whether at the height of success or the depth of failure, your need for Him remains the same. Trust in Him with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and anchor your soul in Acts 4:12. There is no other name, no other way, no other Saviour. Jesus Christ is not a better way; He is the only way!
