NSITF Bags Four SERVICOM Awards, Visits Kuje Prison

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has been honoured with multiple accolades at a prestigious national service delivery awards ceremony, while simultaneously demonstrating its commitment to social welfare through a prison outreach program.

NSITF Clinches Four Accolades at SERVICOM Awards

At the 19th SERVICOM Annual Awards held in Abuja on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the NSITF emerged as a standout performer. The agency's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr Oluwaseun Faleye, was personally honoured with the '2025 SERVICOM Award for Support and Commitment to Citizen-Centred Service Delivery'.

Presenting the award at the Merit House in Maitama, Abuja, the Acting National Coordinator and CEO of SERVICOM, Mr Anthony Olugbenga Oshun, praised Faleye as a pragmatic leader. He noted that Faleye's governance approach has consistently brought positive recognition to the Fund.

Oshun emphasised that the SERVICOM Awards aim to embed a culture of service excellence in public institutions. The awards also encourage healthy competition among Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), promote nationwide best practices, and strengthen governance accountability.

A Trio of Institutional Wins

Beyond the MD's individual recognition, the NSITF secured three additional awards, showcasing a team-wide commitment to service.

  • The Fund received the SERVICOM Special Recognition Award, tagged “SERVICOM Works Here,” for impacting lives through quality service delivery.
  • Mrs Gertrude Biosah, Head of the NSITF's SERVICOM Department, won the award for 'Second Best Performing Nodal Officer (Parastatal)' in the SERVICOM MDA category.
  • The NSITF's 'Second Best Performing Parastatal SERVICOM Unit (PSU) Team C' was also recognised under the same category.

The high-profile event was attended by representatives from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOSF), and officials from 29 other MDAs.

Corporate Compassion: NSITF Staff Fellowship Visits Kuje Prison

In a separate but equally significant development, the NSITF has marked a milestone in its corporate social responsibility. On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, members of the NSITF Staff Fellowship visited the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.

The Fellowship's Coordinator, Mr John Oleka, stated that the outreach was conducted in partnership with the Fund. It reflects the organisation's dedication to social responsibility and community engagement.

Oleka explained that the visit aimed to provide support, hope, and rehabilitation resources for the inmates, while fostering a positive social impact.

The activities at the correctional centre were comprehensive and impactful:

  • A worship service and counselling sessions were held to offer spiritual and emotional support.
  • The Fellowship donated essential items including food, toiletries, clothing, and reading materials.
  • In a major gesture aimed at rehabilitation and future reintegration, the group paid the WAEC examination fees for 20 inmates.

During the sermon, Minister Vincent Obiorah encouraged the inmates, reminding them that Jesus Christ offers forgiveness to all. He urged them to view their period of incarceration as an opportunity for deep personal reflection and a reordering of their lives.

These dual events highlight the NSITF's dual focus: achieving excellence in formal service delivery to the public while extending a hand of compassion and practical support to vulnerable members of society.
