In a significant move to promote risk-free operations, Trex Petroleum and Energy Limited has publicly honored a group of offshore professionals for their exceptional dedication to safety. The recognition took place at the second edition of the company's annual Focus on Safety Initiative, a programme designed to champion best practices in the challenging offshore environment. The award ceremony was held in Lagos on 23 December 2025.

Celebrating the Safety Champions

The prestigious awards were presented to individuals who demonstrated unwavering commitment throughout the 2025 operational year. The honorees are Barry Owiriwa, who serves as the Offshore Installation Manager at Shelf Drilling; James Odomo, a Roustabout also from Shelf Drilling; and Prince Nwinor and Sunday Babalola, both representing Delta Hospitality Limited. These professionals were specifically commended for their leadership, strict compliance with protocols, and consistent prioritization of safety above all else.

Izugbokwe Chukwudi, the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager for Shelf Drilling's West Africa Operations, outlined the core pillars of sustainable safety performance.
