Actress Omeche Oko Survives Scary On-Set Bike Accident
Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has shared a video showing the moment she fell off a motorcycle during a movie set scene, an accident that left her with a leg injury. The actress posted the clip on Instagram, along with footage of herself receiving treatment at a hospital afterward. In her emotional message, she reflected on how risky her job can be and how differently things could have turned out.
Grateful to Be Alive
Omeche Oko used the incident to highlight the dangers actors face while performing demanding scenes for their craft. She urged the public to always appreciate actors for the risks they take on location. Expressing her profound gratitude, she wrote: "Life is very very fragile. It could have been a different story but God said NO. If u see an actor today, give them a hug. We take alot of risks for the craft. All i can say is THANK YOU GOD?"
Fans React with Concern
Fans flooded the comment section with prayers for her recovery, while many also expressed concern for the male motorcycle rider involved in the accident. User @ngbaby100 wrote: "So sorry dear. Thank God for life. Let’s also remember the guy who was riding the motorcycle. If you watch closely, you’ll see that he hit his shoulder against the iron. Please, dude, take care of yourself too. Wishing you all a speedy and complete recovery??"
Another user, @ausaplin, noted: "The guy hit his chest on the iron but hid his pain as every man hides their physical, mental, financial and family pain. Not that he was not hurt but because the accident involved a woman, he sacrificed his own pain to care for the lady. I just want to tell you that I see you and I feel your pain. Get well soon ?"
Calls for Safety Measures
Commenter @ganvolee suggested: "Ambulance and other safety measures should be included at locations… Thank God for life….❤️" Meanwhile, @_halarry defended the rider: "Someone should check on the guy too?he’s not an expert they are just on a movie set for those blaming him"
Previous On-Set Incidents
This incident echoes previous dangers faced by Nollywood actors. Earlier, actor Yomi Olorunlaiye recounted a terrifying attack where hoodlums armed with machetes attacked him and colleagues during a movie shoot in Ikire, Osun state. He also recalled a dangerous encounter in Ikorodu where his crew unknowingly filmed a cult initiation during a real confraternity’s annual celebration, forcing them to negotiate with suspected cultists.
