The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has intensified calls for clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding his death and burial, with a relative publicly demanding answers about physical anomalies observed on the actor's remains.
Clinton Ekubo, a relative of the movie star, took to Facebook to insist that the family deserves transparent answers, rejecting claims that their concerns are motivated by property interests.
Relative Alleges Blood Clot on Eye and Rushed Burial
In a series of posts, Clinton Ekubo raised specific concerns about the actor's body: "How come the blood clot on his left eyes? What happened that he was brought to the hospital dead at arrival?" He alleged that the burial was rushed, leaving family members unhappy. "People who attended the burial will tell you that the members of the family were never happy with the death and the way the burial was rushed," he wrote.
Clinton emphasized the family's cultural traditions: "One thing people don't know is that we are Aro's. We live with honour and dignity. And the Ekubo Okwareke Family are peaceful in all their dealings." He noted that the family took custody of the corpse from the hospital and refused friends' directions on where to take it, citing customs and tradition.
Family Seeks Answers on Medical Care and Final Moments
The relative stated that the family is still seeking information about the events leading up to Alexx Ekubo's death. "Reports indicate that he was brought to the hospital and declared dead on arrival. The family would appreciate clarification regarding the events leading up to that moment, the medical care he was receiving, and where he was being treated prior to his death," Clinton wrote. He described these questions as a call for accountability and closure, not hostility.
Clinton dismissed online narratives that the family is after the actor's properties: "Bloggers carrying the narrative that the family are after his properties is a let down and a big insult to my family. In my previous post I said, TAKE PROPERTIES ASIDE AND GIVE US DETAILS ON WHAT HAPPENED AND HOW IT HAPPENED."

The public response on social media has been mixed. Jennifer Godsmercy questioned Clinton's motives: "You this man, from the onset you've been trying to force it down our throats that you are related to Alex..ok agreed. And I ask you again...have you gotten the visibility you've been craving for?" Adaeze Osunkwo urged: "You are a prodigal son, that just come home and wants to know all that has been happening good for you but allow Alex to rest in peace."
Lisa Rutendo Kachidza advised handling matters privately: "Please oga deal with your issues offline and let the young man rest in peace, you're an elder and should know how to deal with family issues not in public." Cecilia Obiora echoed: "That question should not have come to the social media in the first place, you should have scheduled a private meeting with those that have answers to your questions."

A throwback video showed the siblings dancing together at a family function as she poured her heart out. This came after Clinton's initial allegations about the actor's stepmother sidelining other family members from burial preparations.
The family continues to demand transparency, insisting their quest is for closure and accountability, not property or public spectacle.
