Comedian Buchi Makes Serious Allegations Against Former In-Laws
Popular Nigerian comedian Onyebuchi Ojieh, widely known as Buchi, has ignited a public controversy by leveling grave accusations against his ex-wife's family. In a series of social media posts, Buchi specifically called out his former brother-in-law, Jubril Isede, who resides in the United States with other family members.
Allegations of Physical Abuse and Property Seizure
Buchi alleges that Jubril Isede has been attempting to assume a paternal role over his daughter by engaging in harmful behavior. The comedian claims that Jubril has physically beaten his daughter and unlawfully seized her iPad, actions which Buchi describes as abusive and unacceptable. These allegations have raised significant concerns about the child's welfare and the dynamics within the extended family.
Historical Grievances and Family Intrusion
Delving into the background of the conflict, Buchi recounted that when he was married to his ex-wife, Rukky Isede, her family arranged for her brother Jubril and sister Rashida Isede to live in their marital home. Buchi asserts that during this period, Jubril exhibited disturbing behavior towards his niece, allegedly "disturbing" her at night to such an extent that the young girl felt compelled to lock her bedroom door for safety.
Buchi further threatened to disclose the response he received from his then-wife, Rukky, when he raised concerns about the harassment his niece was enduring from her brother. This indicates a pattern of unresolved issues and a breakdown in familial communication that has persisted over time.
Public Naming and Stern Warnings
In his public outcry, Buchi did not hesitate to name other members of the Isede family, including Clara Isede and Aaliyah Isede, holding them collectively accountable for the current situation. He issued a direct warning to the family, demanding two primary actions:
- To allow him unimpeded access to communicate with his daughter.
- To immediately caution their son, Jubril, against any further physical discipline or mistreatment of his daughter.
The comedian's decision to air these private matters publicly underscores his desperation and frustration, suggesting that private resolutions have failed. This case highlights broader issues of post-divorce familial conflicts, child welfare, and the challenges public figures face in managing personal disputes under public scrutiny.
