Woman Abandons Permanent Relocation Plans

A Canada-based Nigerian woman has shared her story of abandoning plans to relocate permanently to Nigeria, revealing that she quietly returned to Canada after just three months. Speaking in a video circulating online, she explained that her family did not even know she had left Nigeria until she arrived in Toronto in the middle of the night.

Love for Nigeria vs. Reality

According to her, while she loves Nigeria and hopes to one day contribute to the country's development—especially in the electricity sector—she realized she could not cope with the realities on the ground. She decided it was better to watch from a distance. She noted that one thing that surprised her was how easily many Nigerians adapt to difficult living conditions, adding that she 'knew there was fire on the mountain' and decided to leave while she still could.

Missed Opportunities

The woman also disclosed that before relocating, she encouraged several qualified colleagues to apply for Canadian permanent residency, but none of them took the opportunity. She noted that years later, many of those same people are now asking her how to relocate abroad, saying people often fail to recognize warning signs until it is too late.
