Funke Akindele Denies Snubbing Pasuma, Calls Video Edited

Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has strongly denied allegations that she snubbed Fuji music star Wasiu Pasuma during a recent public gathering. The controversy erupted after a short video clip was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @UOladiti, which appeared to show Akindele ignoring Pasuma while greeting other guests.

Akindele Reacts to Viral Video

In her response on X on Sunday, Akindele wrote: “Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil.” She urged her followers and social media users to refrain from spreading harmful narratives.

What the Video Showed

The edited clip, which quickly gained traction online, captured Akindele greeting actress Fathia Balogun at the latter's birthday celebration while Pasuma sat nearby, looking at his phone. The video's caption alleged that Akindele had “stylishly snubbed” the Fuji star. However, a longer version of the footage later surfaced, showing Akindele exchanging pleasantries with Pasuma before moving on to greet other attendees.

Fans Defend the Actress

Supporters of the actress shared the extended video, pointing out that the shorter clip had been deliberately edited to create a false impression. The event, held in honor of Fathia Balogun, also featured other notable personalities, including TikTok star Ashabi Olose.

Previous Controversy

Akindele’s latest denial comes weeks after a video from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo sparked online debate about her public interaction with actress Toyin Abraham. Despite the recurring scrutiny, Akindele has maintained that the Pasuma snub claim is entirely baseless.

The actress emphasized that she has great respect for Pasuma, whom she referred to as her “egbon” (elder), and called on the public to focus on positivity rather than spreading falsehoods.
