A Ghanaian woman, Belinda Abla Elikplim, has shared striking before and after photos revealing her transformation three years after the end of her marriage. She also recalled her ex-husband's words when he sent her away and her mother's unconditional support.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, she wrote: "You won't survive in Accra without me" and "Nobody can be with you and tolerate you," and then proceeded to call my mom to tell her to come for me.

Mother's Unwavering Support

Belinda detailed her mother's response: "My mom said, 'Hold my bag,' release 30k to pay my rent for 2 years, furnished my room, stocked my kitchen every month with food, monthly stipends in addition to my salary. She made sure I finished my first degree successfully, further enrolled me to do my masters, and now the backbone to my business.

"I'm not her favourite child but she will never let me chop disgrace. It's exactly 3 years now and Mama Dzifa is my woman king and a motivation that you need a mom who has small money to face life.

Message to Women

She added: "If you like, don't fear men and see. I know a lot of people can't bounce back because they don't have a support system like mine. But listen girl, you can do it. Make a plan and stick to it. Husband House vrs on my own."

Physical Transformation

Sharing more photos, she wrote: "The first picture was me before I met my ex husband. Size 14, cute and happy. The second picture was me in ex husband’s house. Age 25, Size 22, emotionally abused, high cortisol, insulin resistance, hyperpigmentation, gut issues, menstrual issues, acne all over the face, emotional eating. The last picture is me at today, size 16, no filter, clear skin, healthy guts, sound mind and just my raw face after a beautiful braid.
