Nigerian clergyman Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, the husband of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, has shared a harrowing experience the couple faced during her second pregnancy. Speaking to his congregation, he revealed how he almost lost his wife to a sudden health crisis.
The Incident
According to Pastor Blessed, Chinwo woke up one morning and went to their son's room, where she began complaining of feeling unwell. Suddenly, she collapsed, and her face began to darken. Panicked, he tried to resuscitate her but failed.
Call for Help
He then called his friend, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, who instructed him to initiate a video call. Bassey rushed over with the Hallelujah Challenge prayer team. After intense prayers, Mercy Chinwo was revived. Bassey reportedly described the incident as a spiritual attack.
Reflections
Pastor Blessed noted that if his wife had not survived, he would have faced severe criticism, given the backlash he endured when he married her. He also expressed gratitude for his close friendship with Bassey, emphasizing their frequent prayers together. The singer was scheduled to minister at Bassey's program the day after the incident.
Public Reactions
Many fans expressed relief and gratitude on social media. Comments included praises to God and reminders that people often suffer privately. One user wrote, "Thank you Jesus for saving her life," while another said, "People are going through a lot privately, be careful of what you say to others."
Background
Pastor Blessed previously faced online backlash after paying tribute to slain American activist Charlie Kirk, describing him as a man of conviction and courage.
