Ogbeide Family Remembers Late Coach Seven Years On

Seven years after the passing of former Bendel Insurance coach Solomon Osemwengie Ogbeide, his family has expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the years. Ogbeide, who also served as Technical Adviser for Lobi Stars of Makurdi and coached Sunshine Stars of Akure, left a lasting impact on Nigerian football.

A Family’s Gratitude

Speaking about life after the patriarch, the widow, Mrs Ndidi Ogbeide, acknowledged that while the family continues to miss him, God has been their source of strength. “Today marks seven years since my husband and beloved father died, and we glorify God for standing by us. With His grace and mercy, we have remained strong. The children are doing well, though they still miss their father,” she said.

Mrs Ogbeide highlighted the enduring legacy of her late husband. “Solo was a good man who continues to guide the children and me. The legacy of a good and godly life he lived radiates over us. People often recognize us as his family and offer help with little effort. I thank God that the coach was a believer and a pillar in God’s vineyard. May his soul continue to rest in peace.”
