Ex-Choir Member Accuses Pastor Chris Okafor of Secret Affair, 4 Abortions
Pastor Okafor Accused of Affair, Multiple Abortions

A fresh wave of scandal has hit the Nigerian clergy as a woman claiming to be a former choir member of the Liberation City church has come forward with explosive allegations against its Senior Pastor, Chris Okafor.

From Prophecy to Predation: How It Allegedly Began

The accuser, who shared her story in a live Instagram session, stated that the entire ordeal began during a church service. Pastor Okafor reportedly singled her out from the choir, claiming he had a divine message for her. She recounted how he removed his microphone mid-service, asked her deeply personal questions, and then instructed another pastor to escort her to his office.

"At that time, my heart was open. I didn’t think anything was wrong. I was just receiving the prophecy," she told viewers, explaining her initial state of mind. She was later given a brown envelope and told she would be contacted.

The Alleged Secret Relationship and Multiple Abortions

The woman alleged that in 2015, the pastor summoned her again, warning her to leave a man he labelled "occultic." It was during this meeting, she claims, that he professed romantic interest despite being married. She says he gave her ₦50,000 and two apples, signaling his desire for them to start dating. When she reminded him of his marital status, he allegedly told her to "forget about that."

This marked the start of a sexual relationship that she says lasted several years. The most harrowing part of her testimony involves pregnancies. She claimed she became pregnant multiple times between 2016 and 2017.

She alleged she was pressured into terminating four pregnancies to keep their affair hidden. According to her, the pastor initially suggested keeping the first pregnancy but later instructed her to abort it, a pattern that repeated. She described these experiences as leaving her emotionally and psychologically scarred.

Public Reaction and Broader Context

This new allegation surfaces shortly after Pastor Okafor issued a public apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala over previous unspecified allegations. The accuser's story has ignited fierce reactions on social media.

One user, @tayoed, commented, "A lot happened in the life of these so-called men of God!... Just know your God and use your Bible as guidance period!" Another, @mirian_official1, warned, "Some of y’all watching this will be thinking your own pastor is innocent. I laugh. When you people are ready to have sense i pray it’s not too late."

The comments reflect a mix of cynicism towards religious leaders and calls for personal spiritual vigilance among congregants. The story adds to a growing list of controversies involving high-profile Nigerian pastors, raising questions about accountability and the exploitation of spiritual authority.
