Priscilla Ojo Claps Back at Claims Juma Jux Bought 2026 AFRIMA Award
Priscilla Ojo Denies Husband Bought AFRIMA Award

Nigerian celebrity influencer Priscilla Ojo has fiercely dismissed fresh online allegations that her husband, Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, purchased his recent award at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

Social Media Celebration Sparks Controversy

The controversy ignited after Juma Jux was announced as the winner of the Best Male Artist in Eastern Africa category at the 9th AFRIMA ceremony. The event was held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos.

Priscilla Ojo took to her Snapchat to celebrate her husband's achievement, posting a congratulatory message that read, "Congratulations, baby. So proud of you!!" However, this display of pride was met with immediate criticism from a follower who insinuated the award was not legitimately earned.

Priscilla's Fiery Clapback to Haters

Responding directly to a comment that stated, "Award wey una buy o," Priscilla did not hold back. She advised the critic to abandon negativity in the new year, replying, "Belle, it’s a new year, stop hating, girl."

To drive her point home, the influencer shared a screenshot of the detractor's profile with a sarcastic caption questioning, "Too pretty to be hating?" This swift and public rebuttal underscores her unwavering support for her husband's career and her intolerance for what she perceives as baseless envy.

A History of Similar Accusations

This incident is not an isolated one for the couple. Previously, when Juma Jux won the Best East African Artiste award at The Headies, similar rumours circulated online. A social media user had suggested that his marriage to Priscilla was a strategic move to gain foothold and accolades in Nigeria's competitive entertainment industry.

At that time, Priscilla responded with sarcastic agreement, praising Juma Jux as a smart and calculative hard worker, cheekily adding that "the game is the game." She has consistently used humour and directness to counter allegations linking her husband's success to their relationship.

Priscilla Ojo and her mother, veteran actress Iyabo Ojo, have been vocal pillars of support for Juma Jux's Nigerian ventures. In December, following his successful debut concert in Lagos, both women publicly applauded his dedication and the quality of his performance, framing his achievements as a result of hard work and intentionality.

The recurring theme of these rumours often ties back to the couple's high-profile status, with Priscilla being a well-known figure in Nigeria's social media and entertainment space. Despite the chatter, including past discussions about their 11-year age gap (with Priscilla at 24 and Juma Jux at 35), the couple continues to publicly celebrate each other's milestones while dismissing negativity.
