Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she has mentally checked out of marriage following the collapse of her union with Delta State lawmaker Senator Ned Nwoko. The 25-year-old movie star, who tied the knot with Nwoko in 2019 when she was just 19 years old, saw her marriage fall apart in 2025 amid allegations of domestic abuse, drug abuse, and irreconcilable differences. The couple shares two sons.
Regina Daniels Opens Up About Marriage and Motherhood
During a recent livestream session with TikToker Jarvis, Daniels shared her thoughts on marriage and her desire for a daughter. She stated, "For some reason I have checked my mind out of getting married but I need to have a girl and I must have a girl." She elaborated on the unique bond between a mother and daughter, saying, "I feel like motherhood starts better when you have a girl. You will understand motherhood when you have a girl child. Having boys is easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure. But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate."
Changing Views on Having a Daughter
Daniels admitted that her perspective on having a daughter has changed over time. She recalled, "Before I had my first son, I said, no, never. I will never have a girl child. Never, ever. But after my first, after my second. I remember, for some reason. You know, it's female kids that remember." The actress emphasized that she is now determined to have a baby girl, even though she has ruled out marriage for herself.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko's marriage was a topic of widespread media attention due to their significant age difference and Nwoko's polygamous lifestyle. The couple's separation in 2025 marked the end of a six-year union that produced two sons. Daniels has since focused on her career and personal life, expressing a clear vision for her future family.
