A Nigerian woman residing in the United States, Oyinna Ogbonna, has shared one of the most audacious and entitled requests she has ever received from men in Nigeria.
Driver's Unexpected Request
The mother of two recounted that during her visit to Nigeria last year, a driver she had hired asked her to provide money to complete the construction of his house. Ogbonna noted that while she has encountered many bold and presumptuous demands from men, this particular instance still astonishes her because the driver was fully aware that she was staying in other people's homes and hotels throughout her trip.
Details of the Encounter
In her own words, she said: "I've gotten some audacious and entitled requests from bandits over the course of my lifetime, but the one that still shocks me the most is when a driver I hired when I came to Nigeria last year for my former brother's wedding sent me photos of an incomplete building, told me he's an only son, and asked if I could give him money to finish building the house." She added, "He drove me around in the car I rented from Aji to Enugu and was well aware that I was sleeping in people's homes and hotels."
The story has sparked discussions on social media about the nature of such requests and the expectations some men have from women abroad.
