BBNaija Star Vee Iye Criticizes Comedian Seyi Law Over Kidnapping Remarks

Reality television star Vee Iye has launched a scathing attack on comedian Seyi Law, labeling him as a desensitized Nigerian citizen who is unable to look beyond his own financial interests. This criticism came in response to Seyi Law's recent comments regarding the state of security in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Seyi Law's Controversial Statements on Security

During an episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Seyi Law was questioned about whether Nigeria is safer now compared to a decade ago. He asserted that the country is indeed safer under Tinubu than it was during the previous two administrations. "Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago. This government has killed more bandits since Jonathan’s. When have you last heard of a bomb blast? It is not today that they have been kidnapping people in their houses," he stated, referring to former President Goodluck Jonathan's tenure.

Vee Iye's Sharp Reaction

In a swift and pointed reaction, Vee Iye took to social media to express her disapproval. Quoting Seyi Law's remark about kidnapping, she wrote: "It’s not today that they have been kidnapping people in their house"a perfect example of a desensitised Nigerian citizen who can’t see past his own pockets. Her comment highlights a growing debate over public figures' perspectives on national issues, particularly security concerns that affect everyday citizens.

The exchange underscores ongoing tensions in Nigeria regarding security policies and public discourse. While some, like Seyi Law, argue for improvements under the current government, others, including Vee Iye, criticize such views as out of touch with the realities faced by many Nigerians dealing with kidnapping and other crimes.
