Sheree Zampino, the ex-wife of Hollywood actor Will Smith, has initiated legal action against Bilaal Salaam, alleging that he made defamatory remarks about her personal life during a recent interview. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Zampino contends that Salaam's statements were “outrageously offensive, shocking, and hurtful” when he appeared on Tasha K’s “Unwine with Tasha K” series.
Details of the Alleged Defamation
The lawsuit references a promotional clip shared online on May 4, which reportedly contained the caption: “Exclusive: Bilaal claims Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino was sleeping with everyone in Hollywood.” Zampino asserts that Salaam repeated these allegations during the interview, repeatedly calling her a “whore” and accusing her of “screwing everybody in Hollywood.”
Background of the Defendant
Salaam, a former associate of Will Smith, has a history of making controversial claims about the actor and those close to him. He is also reportedly involved in a separate legal dispute with Jada Pinkett Smith over alleged threats. In the lawsuit, Zampino emphasizes that the allegations are entirely false and constitute slander under California law, as they accuse her of promiscuous behavior.
Impact on Zampino
Zampino claims that the remarks have caused her humiliation, embarrassment, emotional distress, and mental anguish. She is seeking more than $1 million in damages, along with punitive damages and legal costs, for slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
