A young woman has publicly accepted responsibility for the collapse of her short-lived marriage, acknowledging that her disorganization played a key role in its failure.
Background of the Marriage
The woman, who married while still in her final year at university, separated from her husband in 2025 during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. Initially, she blamed her husband for the end of their union, accusing him of domestic violence and neglecting his responsibilities toward their son after the separation.
Admission of Fault
In a recent social media post, she admitted her own shortcomings. She wrote: "My marriage failed, but it’s not because I am a bad person; it’s because I am very disorganized. I cook well, but not fast. I have other good qualities, but they were never enough for him."
She explained that her husband constantly criticized her, never acknowledging her efforts to improve. "He kept nagging, never seeing my efforts, even though I was honestly trying my best to be better at doing chores," she added.
Conflict and Accountability
Whenever she attempted to confront him about his mistakes, he would retaliate by highlighting her inability to maintain order, often reporting her to his family. Despite her struggles, she acknowledged: "I was trying, but my trying was never enough."
She concluded by stating her intention to be transparent about her flaws, saying: "I am boldly sharing this because I know I am not the only one who has faults, and I also want any man who is interested in me to know what he will have to deal with. To the best of my knowledge and in all sincerity, this was my own contribution to my marriage failing. I should have been a stronger wife, but I couldn’t."
