Comedian Koffi Calls for Immediate Arrest of Influencer King Mitchy Over Fake Suicide Videos

Nigerian comedian Koffi has publicly demanded the arrest of social media influencer King Mitchy after she filmed herself consuming harmful substances in what appear to be two staged suicide attempts. This incident follows a heated dispute between King Mitchy and social critic Very Dark Man regarding her non-governmental organization and incomplete projects.

Details of the Controversial Videos

King Mitchy went live on social media twice, pretending to ingest different harmful substances in simulated suicide acts. Subsequently, she issued a press statement claiming hospitalization in Abuja due to her attempts. However, the hospital in question denied any knowledge of her admission, stating they had no record of her case.

Koffi's Strong Condemnation and Call to Action

In a video statement, Koffi expressed severe disapproval of King Mitchy's actions, emphasizing the dangerous precedent they set for young people. He argued that such behavior could encourage vulnerable individuals to consider harmful acts, noting that substances like Hypo sachets are easily accessible.

"This young lady that has been having issues with Very Dark Man, I want her to be arrested immediately. I don't care what their issue is or what they are dragging. Just the other day, I posted that young people should be careful of who they choose as influencers. What that young lady has come on camera to do is setting the tone and pace for a future we cannot control," Koffi stated.

He further highlighted that suicide is a crime in Nigeria and advocated for using this case as an example to deter others. Koffi warned that King Mitchy's actions send a wrong signal to youth, suggesting that suicide is an escape from pressure.

Police Response and Public Reaction

The fake suicide attempts reportedly occurred in Abuja, but the Federal Capital Territory police command has not yet responded to the situation. Efforts by media outlets to contact the FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, have been unsuccessful. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from Nigerians, with many echoing Koffi's call for accountability.

This controversy underscores growing concerns about the influence of social media personalities and the potential for harmful content to impact vulnerable audiences. It raises questions about the responsibilities of influencers and the need for legal measures to address such reckless behavior.
