Church Unveils 'Celebrate Jesus' Concert, Prays for Nigeria

Global Harvest Church has officially announced the eighth edition of its major annual gospel concert, titled 'Celebrate Jesus'. The event is set to serve as a pivotal platform for both spiritual worship and focused national intercession, particularly as Nigeria approaches a crucial election period.

A Spiritual Rally for National Renewal

The Senior Pastor of Global Harvest Church, Reverend Victor Adeyemi, made the formal announcement during a press briefing held at the church's headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State. He described the upcoming gathering as "a moment of hope" for the nation.

Reverend Adeyemi explained that the 'Celebrate Jesus' concert has evolved from a simple music event into a significant spiritual rally. Its core focus now encompasses prayer, national renewal, and the active propagation of Christian faith. The cleric emphasized that the 2025 edition would place special importance on intercessory prayers for Nigeria.

The event is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2025, at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan. According to the pastor, the programme aims to unite believers from diverse backgrounds to worship and seek divine intervention for the country's political stability, security challenges, and economic recovery.

Call for Governance and Civic Responsibility

Moving beyond the spiritual agenda, Reverend Adeyemi addressed pressing national issues, directing a strong message to the country's political class and leaders in authority. He warned that a new generation of young Nigerians is keenly observing the quality of governance.

He urged leaders at every level to prioritize effective governance, decisively tackle insecurity, and address the severe economic hardships facing citizens. "Leaders must not take the people for granted," Adeyemi stated, stressing the need for governance that is responsive, transparent, and inclusive.

The pastor also charged Christians and Nigerian youths to take their civic duties seriously. He highlighted participation in the electoral process as a critical avenue for driving national transformation. Expressing optimism, he noted that Nigeria's electoral system is gradually improving and encouraged young people not to withdraw from the process due to frustration but to actively shape the future through their votes.

Event Logistics and Preparations

In practical preparations for the large-scale gathering, the church has arranged free transportation for participants from 12 different locations across Ibadan and its surrounding areas to ensure easy access to the Liberty Stadium.

The programme will run from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Reverend Adeyemi assured the public that comprehensive security, welfare, and medical arrangements have been made to guarantee the safety of all lives and property throughout the event.

The concert will feature a blend of both renowned and upcoming gospel music ministers, promising a powerful experience of worship and praise. The church has intensified its spiritual preparations, anticipating a profound manifestation of God's healing power and miracles.

Over the years, the 'Celebrate Jesus' concert has attracted thousands of worshippers, establishing itself as a unifying platform that seamlessly blends faith, music, and national consciousness, thereby reinforcing the church's role in addressing societal and spiritual concerns.
