Asake has released his fourth studio album, M$NEY, a 13-track project that showcases a blend of Afrobeats, jazz, amapiano, orchestral arrangements, and live choral elements. The album, released on 1 May via GIRAN REPUBLIC and EMPIRE, features collaborations with French artist Tiakola, global DJ and producer DJ Snake, and South African amapiano producer Kabza De Small.
A New Sonic Direction
The album opens with a live choral performance, a departure from typical Afrobeats records, and moves through diverse styles including orchestral strings, jazz-infused production, and dance-ready amapiano. Asake described the project as a reflection of his spiritual and creative journey, expressing gratitude to God and drawing from personal experiences and evolution.
Singles and Collaborations
Fans first heard tracks from the album in February 2025 with Why Love, followed by Badman Gangsta featuring Tiakola, which samples Amerie's 1 Thing. The single Worship with DJ Snake further expanded the album's cross-continental appeal. New tracks include Gratitude, Forgiveness, and Asambe with Kabza De Small.
Album Artwork and Reception
The album artwork was created by Iraqi-Dutch artist Arthar Jabar. Early online reception has been positive, with particular attention on the track Amen and its lyrics, sparking discussion on social media.
Asake's Growing Legacy
M$NEY follows the joint EP REAL Vol. 1 with Wizkid in 2025 and is Asake's fourth studio album after Mr Money With the Vibe (2022), Work of Art (2023), and Lungu Boy (2024), which holds the record for the longest-running number one album in Nigerian chart history. Asake also holds the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and is the most-streamed artist on Spotify Nigeria.
