Bambam: Movie role transformed my visibility and finances

Nollywood actress and reality TV star, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, has opened up about the profound impact her role in the romantic drama Love in Every Word had on her career trajectory and personal finances.

Career Transformation and Personal Connection

In a candid video interview with BBC Pidgin, the mother of two reflected on how the project, which marked her full return to acting in late 2024, became a pivotal moment. Bambam explained that she found it easy to embody her character, Chioma, because their personalities closely aligned. "My personality relates well to that of Chioma, that's why it was easy for me to be in Chioma's shoes because I felt connected," she shared.

The actress, who first gained widespread fame from the Big Brother Naija reality show, revealed that the film generated an unexpected wave of fan love and professional attention. "I didn't even notice when my followers grew from 1.7 to 2 million on Instagram," Bambam stated, expressing gratitude to her supporters. She emphasized that while she had acted in several films prior, Love in Every Word uniquely transformed her visibility and financial standing.

Perfect Timing and Supportive Partnership

Bambam described her return to acting in September/October 2024 as perfectly timed, with the movie's success manifesting in less than a year. She expressed awe at her rapid progress, stating, "Look at what God is doing with my life."

The actress also credited her husband, musician Tope Adenibuyan (Teddy A), as a pillar of strength and motivation. "My husband always says that even if he becomes a billionaire, I would still want to act. I don't know when to rest; I am a workaholic," she revealed, highlighting his unwavering support for her career ambitions. Bambam lovingly referred to Teddy A as her soulmate and asked fans to "love-bomb him" and offer prayers on his behalf.

National Recognition for Film's Success

The impact of Love in Every Word extends beyond Bambam's personal success. The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has officially commended the sequel, Love in Every Word 2, for its extraordinary performance. The film achieved a remarkable 13 million YouTube views within its first week of release, with an impressive 6 million views garnered in just the first 24 hours.

This milestone makes it one of the fastest-climbing Nigerian film releases of 2025. Produced by Omoni Oboli and featuring stars like Patience Ozokwo and Uzor Arukwe, the NOA described the film's growing global audience as proof of the international appetite for authentic Nigerian storytelling. The agency reinforced that this success highlights the creative economy as one of Nigeria's strongest exports, with the film trending for its powerful blend of love, culture, and emotional narrative.
