Eko FM and Radio Lagos Triumph with Six Awards at BON Ceremony
In a remarkable display of broadcasting excellence, Radio Lagos and Eko FM have emerged as the standout winners at the prestigious Nigeria Broadcasting Awards, organized by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria. The stations secured victories in six distinct categories, underscoring their leadership in Nigeria's radio industry.
Outstanding Achievements Across Multiple Categories
The awards were based on 248 entries submitted by the stations, highlighting their commitment to news, programming, professionalism, and dedicated service. The honours received include Radio Station of the Year, Best Radio Station – News (English Language), and Best Radio Station – News (Indigenous Language). Additionally, they won Best Radio Station – Original Production in Business, Drama, and Sports (English Language) and Best Radio Station – Original Production in Business, Drama, and Sports (Indigenous Language).
Individual accolades were also awarded, with Gbenga Alli-Balogun named Newscaster of the Year and Titi Adeaga recognized as Reporter of the Year. These wins collectively reinforce the stations' reputation for high-quality broadcasting and innovation.
Leadership and Team Dedication Celebrated
Receiving the awards on behalf of Radio Lagos and Eko FM, General Manager Jide Lawal expressed profound gratitude to the organizers for the recognition. He emphasized that these awards would motivate his team to continue striving for excellence and maintaining the professional standards the stations are known for.
Lawal also praised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which he credited as key factors in the stations' success.
