Choose Milk Campaign: Transforming Nigerian Dairy Choices for Healthier Families
Choose Milk Campaign: Transforming Nigerian Dairy Choices

The "Choose Milk" campaign, officially launched on May 25, 2026, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, aims to address widespread misconceptions about dairy products. Many consumers assume all milky options offer the same nutritional value, but the campaign seeks to clarify the differences between real dairy milk and creamers.

What Is the Choose Milk Campaign?

Backed by the Danish Dairy Board, the European Union, and key Nigerian ministries, the initiative focuses on nutrition education. Lars Jensen noted at the launch that many consumers are unaware that creamers often lack key nutrients naturally found in dairy milk. The campaign aims to help families make smarter, healthier dairy choices.

Why It Matters for Nigerian Families

Nigeria faces nutrition challenges, and better dietary choices require better awareness. The Director of Food and Drug Services at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Mrs. Olufowolabi-Yusuf Adeola MNI, described the initiative as timely, helping close the nutrition literacy gap. In simpler terms, better information today means healthier households tomorrow.
