Sam Pharmaceutical Celebrates 55 Years with New Ota Plant

Sam Pharmaceutical Limited has proudly celebrated its 55th anniversary with a significant milestone: the commissioning of a cutting-edge pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Ota, Ogun State. This new plant is meticulously designed to adhere to the World Health Organisation's current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards, ensuring it meets rigorous international regulatory benchmarks.

Enhanced Production Capacity and Future Growth

The state-of-the-art facility dramatically increases Sam Pharmaceutical's production capabilities. It is equipped to manufacture over 400 million tablets, 50 million capsules, 2 million bottles of liquid formulations, and 1 million sachet-based products each month. To further address rising market demands, expansion lines are already under development, positioning the company for scalable growth and enhanced output in the coming years.

Stakeholder Engagement and Community Health Initiative

The landmark commissioning event recently gathered key stakeholders from across the healthcare value chain, including government representatives, regulatory authorities, industry leaders, and development partners. As part of its anniversary celebrations and ongoing commitment to community health, Sam Pharmaceutical launched a large-scale corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on controlling neglected tropical diseases.

This initiative successfully provided deworming treatment to more than 5,000 children in various communities across Ogun State. By doing so, the company contributes to improved child health outcomes and supports national efforts in preventing and managing soil-transmitted helminth infections, underscoring its dedication to public welfare.

Leadership Vision and Strategic Milestones

Mr. Amit Bhojwani, Chairman and Managing Director of Sam Pharmaceutical, hailed the new facility as a strategic milestone in the company's evolution. He emphasized that this ultra-modern plant not only represents the future direction of the company but also reflects the strong foundation built over the past 55 years.

"Our commitment to quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory compliance remains unwavering," Bhojwani stated. "With the launch of 'SAM Pharm 2.0,' we are positioning the company for the next phase of growth, driven by innovation, advanced formulations, and technologies tailored to meet the dynamic healthcare needs of Nigeria and the African continent."

He further highlighted that the WHO cGMP-compliant facility, developed in alignment with global best practices, demonstrates the company's readiness to compete at the highest levels. It reinforces the message that 'Made-in-Nigeria' pharmaceutical products can meet and exceed international standards, boosting local industry confidence.

Encouragement for Entrepreneurship and Industry Support

Bhojwani expressed deep encouragement from the presence of esteemed, high-ranking government officials and industry leaders at the event. "It not only strengthens my resolve to do more but also serves as a powerful signal to a new generation of entrepreneurs like me that with the support and confidence of our leaders, we too can take bold steps toward building impactful, enduring enterprises," he remarked.
