In a statement issued on Monday, spokesperson Ibrahim Umar of the Peter Obi Media Office (POMR) said the growing "Obidient" movement should not be reduced to mere social media activism, stressing that it reflects public response to Obi's record in both private and public service.

The statement highlighted Obi's pre-political career in corporate governance, including his tenure as one of the youngest chairmen of Fidelity Bank Nigeria and other leadership roles in the financial and logistics sectors, which it said shaped his philosophy of fiscal discipline and cost efficiency.

It further referenced his administration as Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, during which the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) was implemented in line with broader development goals.
