Kano Governor Pledges Full Support for Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid
In a significant political declaration, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has vowed to galvanize robust support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections. Governor Yusuf made this commitment during a public address at the Kano Government House on Saturday evening, following an extensive eight-hour reception rally that welcomed him back from Abuja.
Governor Yusuf's Assurance to President Tinubu
Governor Yusuf emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) firmly controls Kano State and assured President Tinubu of total mobilization efforts to secure votes for his second term. He highlighted the Federal Government's economic and physical reforms, particularly in infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture, as credible achievements that justify Tinubu's re-election.
"Mr. President has been doing his best for this country, and he has improved the economy," Governor Yusuf stated. "Let me seize this opportunity to thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his doggedness in ensuring that dividends of democracy are provided in Nigeria."
Political Strength and Party Unity in Kano
The governor's return to Kano after a ten-day absence, during which he attended the APC Zonal and National Conventions in Kaduna and Abuja, was marked by a rousing welcome from supporters across all 44 local government areas. This event showcased the APC's political strength in the state.
Governor Yusuf asserted, "Let me assure Mr. President that Kano belongs to APC, and APC is synonymous with Kano. We are going to mobilize total support to vote for APC and President Tinubu's re-election in Kano. The President should rest assured that we are fully in charge of the politics in Kano."
Critique of Opposition Parties
In his address, Governor Yusuf dismissed opposition parties, specifically mentioning the ADC and NNPP, as weak forums lacking the impetus to win elections. He declared that the APC is the only party capable of securing victories at all levels in Kano State and Nigeria.
"The APC is the only winning party in Kano State and Nigeria. There is no other party that can take control of Kano State and Nigeria by the grace of God," he affirmed.
