Lawmaker Femi Saheed Highlights Achievements and Calls for Stronger Mandate in Kosofe

Femi Saheed, the lawmaker representing Kosofe II Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has outlined his key legislative accomplishments while appealing for enhanced voter support ahead of the forthcoming elections. During an interactive session with residents across Kosofe, Saheed emphasized that his four-year tenure has been dedicated to infrastructure development, welfare initiatives, and youth empowerment programs.

Infrastructure and Development Projects

According to Saheed, he facilitated the provision of three mass transit buses specifically for transporting students within the constituency, a service that has operated consistently for nearly four years. He also highlighted the completion of 13 roads equipped with streetlights, alongside major road projects in Ajagunle, Ademurin, and Church Street. Additionally, a 1,200-capacity stadium was delivered within the constituency, and a large-scale water scheme project was completed at Isheri North Estate. Bridge projects in Agboyi and Patele Estate were also facilitated, with one executed by the federal government.

Education, Welfare, and Youth Empowerment

On education and welfare, Saheed stated that his office supported students through the provision of free JAMB forms and scholarships, while also extending assistance to indigent families. He emphasized efforts to create employment opportunities for youths through collaboration with various Lagos State Government agencies, including the Ministry of Transport, LASMA, the Ministry of Local Government, the Civil Service Commission, and neighborhood security structures. "We have used the mandate given to us by the people to address their needs, including stopping illegal demolitions and supporting vulnerable families within our society," Saheed said.

Looking ahead, Saheed appealed for continued support from constituents, noting a steady increase in voter confidence. "The first time, I received 8,016 votes. The second time, it rose to 36,896. This time, we are aiming for nothing less than 100,000 votes," he said, urging residents to back him during the party primaries and the general election. Describing his leadership style as people-centered, Saheed explained that his approach is driven by close engagement with constituents. "I live among my people. I understand their needs, and their requests guide my actions," he stated. He also stressed the importance of voter registration, describing it as a critical tool for electing capable leaders, and encouraged active participation in the electoral process to ensure continuity and effective representation.
