PDP Aspirant Ajadi Pledges to Sustain Makinde's Development Agenda

PDP Governorship Hopeful Ajadi Vows to Continue Makinde's Legacy in Oyo

Olufemi Ajadi, a prominent governorship aspirant within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has firmly pledged to sustain and expand the developmental initiatives of incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde should he secure victory in the 2027 elections. Ajadi articulated that his political ambition is fundamentally rooted in principles of continuity, unwavering party loyalty, and comprehensive grassroots inclusion.

Strategic Meeting with Local Government Chairmen

Ajadi reiterated this commitment during a pivotal strategic engagement with chairmen from various local government areas, convened under the auspices of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State chapter. The significant meeting took place in Ibadan, the state capital.

"I would have visited the chairmen much earlier, but today is the divinely appointed time," Ajadi declared. "I am here to formally inform this assembly that the exemplary work of Governor Seyi Makinde must and will continue beyond 2027. By God's grace and with the collective support of all PDP members alongside the good people of Oyo State, I will become the next governor."

Grassroots Credentials and Business Acumen

The governorship hopeful, who originates from Osengere in Egbeda Local Government Area, introduced himself to the council leaders as a deeply connected grassroots politician and a successful entrepreneur with extensive roots across the state.

"I am from Oja'gbo, Osengere, specifically Awaye Ward 8 in Egbeda Local Government. I am truly one of you. I possess a thorough understanding of the local government system and its critical role in delivering tangible democratic benefits to our citizens," he emphasized.

Ajadi further highlighted his substantial business background, noting that he has established a diversified enterprise anchored by Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited. His business interests span multiple sectors including:

  • Entertainment and sports promotion
  • Real estate and hospitality
  • Manufacturing and marketing
  • International trade

"Our ventures, such as Bullion Records and Bullionmonie, are strategically structured not merely for profit generation but to actively create employment opportunities and stimulate robust economic growth at local, national, and international levels," he elaborated.

Longstanding Political Ambition and Family Heritage

He also acknowledged his family lineage, describing himself as the son of the esteemed businessman, Chief Bode Amoo. Ajadi clarified that his aspiration for the governorship predates this recent meeting with the council chairmen.

"I have been actively involved in this political race for over fifteen years. I previously aspired to the presidency under the platform of the New Nigeria People's Party. My current aspiration is propelled by accumulated experience, steadfast loyalty, and a sincere desire to serve Oyo State effectively," Ajadi stated.

ALGON Chairman's Response and Significance

Earlier in the proceedings, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, who also serves as the Chairman of ALGON in Oyo State, Sikiru Sanda, formally welcomed Ajadi and his delegation. Sanda described the aspirant as a "lucky aspirant" for securing an audience with all the local government chairmen simultaneously.

"You should consider yourself a fortunate aspirant," Sanda remarked. "If I had wished, I could have assembled councillors from various local governments and presented them as chairmen, but I refrained from doing so. You have demonstrated clear loyalty to the PDP and to Governor Seyi Makinde. That is precisely why we are gathered here today."

Sanda underscored that the meeting was conducted with the full knowledge and explicit consent of Governor Makinde, stressing that party discipline and unity remain of paramount importance.

"If His Excellency had not approved this engagement, we would not have met with you. We are engaging with you with the governor's consent," he affirmed.

The ALGON chairman observed that numerous local government areas have their own governorship aspirants, yet he characterized Ajadi's visit as particularly significant, especially since the aspirant hails from Egbeda Local Government.

"As you have come from Egbeda, it represents a distinct advantage for you. Having a gubernatorial aspirant from my own local government visit the council chairmen ahead of others is certainly noteworthy. Many of us have been anticipating your visit for a considerable time," Sanda noted.

He added that although Ajadi's consultation occurred later than some political engagements with other stakeholders, the timing might be divinely orchestrated.

"Your arrival at this juncture appears godly. God knows the perfect timing for all events. On behalf of all the chairmen present, I offer prayers that this relationship will culminate in a successful outcome," he concluded.

Political Implications for the 2027 Race

Political analysts interpret this meeting as a clear signal of intensifying consultations in preparation for the 2027 governorship contest in Oyo State. Aspirants are actively seeking to consolidate grassroots organizational structures and secure the endorsement of key party stakeholders.

Given that local government chairmen are widely recognized as critical mobilizers at the grassroots level, Ajadi's outreach to ALGON may significantly influence early political alignments within the PDP as strategic preparations for the 2027 elections gradually unfold.
