Soludo Votes in Anambra Election, Reports Smooth Process Amid Vote-Buying Claims
Soludo Votes in Anambra Election, Confident of Victory

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has cast his vote in the ongoing 2025 governorship election, expressing strong confidence in both the electoral process and his chances of securing a landslide victory.

Peaceful Voting Process at Isuofia Ward

The Governor arrived at his designated polling unit, Isuofia Ward, Ofiyi Square, Polling Unit 002, at approximately 1:15 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was accompanied by his wife, Nonye Soludo, along with their sons and daughters, receiving warm cheers from townspeople and fellow voters gathered at the venue.

Speaking to journalists after exercising his civic duty, Governor Soludo described the voting process as seamless, orderly, and peaceful. He particularly commended the large turnout of voters and the generally peaceful conduct observed among both voters and electoral officials across the state.

Soludo's Assessment and Concerns

"From what I see here, and from the calls I've been receiving since morning, I can say that everything is going on smoothly," Governor Soludo stated, while acknowledging some concerning reports from specific areas.

The Governor revealed troubling information about Nnewi South local government area, where he alleged that a certain candidate from the area, described as "desperate to win the council area," was reportedly distributing fifteen thousand naira to each voter.

Another technical challenge was reported in Olumbanasa in Anambra West local government area, where BVAS machines experienced malfunctions. Despite these issues, Governor Soludo remained optimistic, stating: "That notwithstanding, there is no cause for alarm. On the basis of one man - one vote, we're confident of having landslide victory. There's no doubt about it."

Allegations of Electoral Malpractice

Governor Soludo made further serious allegations, claiming he had received credible reports that a certain political party had bribed some electoral officers and provided them with pre-written results to swap during the submission process.

However, the Governor expressed hope that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would rise to the occasion and maintain the confidence reposed in them by the electorate. He emphasized his belief that despite these challenges, the will of the people would ultimately prevail in the election.

The atmosphere at the polling unit remained generally peaceful and orderly throughout the voting process, with security personnel maintaining a visible presence to ensure the safety of voters and electoral materials.
