The Apostolic Church, Nigeria (TACN), LAWMNA Territory, Ketu, Lagos, has officially appointed Pastor Moses Oluwole Ogunibe as its new Territorial Chairman. With this appointment, Pastor Ogunibe becomes the 7th leader in the administration of TACN, taking over from the Emeritus Territorial Chairman, Pastor S. G. O. Uyeh.
In addition to Pastor Ogunibe, other leaders were elected to steer the affairs of the church. They include Pastor Abraham Bonzy Geoffrey as Territorial Vice Chairman, Pastor Ebenezer Oluseun Abe as Territorial Administrative Secretary, and Pastor Gabriel Olugbenga Ayotunde Alakuko as Territorial Deputy Administrative Secretary.
Outgoing Chairman Highlights Achievements
The outgoing Territorial Chairman, Pastor S. G. O. Uyeh, addressed journalists in Lagos regarding the appointment of new LAWMNA officers. He stated that various decision-making organs of TACN, including the Executive Council, General Executive Council, and General Council, have ratified the appointments of the new officers.
Reflecting on his tenure as the 6th LAWNA Territorial Chairman and National Vice President of TACN, Uyeh highlighted several achievements. These include increased evangelism, support initiatives for widows and widowers, prison outreach programs, and investments in education. He also revealed that the church established the Glorious Vision International Hospital, which is set to open to the public soon.
Call for National Unity and Moral Rebirth
Uyeh called for national unity, moral rebirth, and responsible political leadership. He noted that Nigerians have deviated from the moral virtues, ethics, and values for which they were once known in the early years of independence. He urged leaders to understand that power is transient and should be used for the benefit of the people. He further encouraged them to shun impunity and political wickedness, allowing equity, fairness, and justice to prevail in all official affairs.
As the nation prepares for another election season, the Emeritus Territorial Chairman enjoined politicians to tread carefully and ensure that the interest of the country supersedes personal ambition and political scheming. He called on the government to end insecurity, kidnapping, banditry, and pockets of religious extremism, urging politicians to avoid actions and utterances capable of further heating the polity. He also called on INEC to live up to its responsibility and ensure free and fair elections.
Incoming Chairman's Vision
The incoming LAWMNA Territorial Chairman, Pastor Moses Oluwole Ogunibe, outlined his leadership priorities. These include strengthening unity and spiritual revival across the territory, aggressive evangelism and church growth, empowerment and restoration of youths, inclusion and support for physically challenged members, completion of ongoing church projects, expansion of church ventures for financial stability, and honor for widows, widowers, and retired members, among others.
